UNFPA Reproductive Health Kit
for Emergency Situations

Supplies and equipment needed for providing reproductive health services for refugee and war-affected persons are available from UNFPA.

The UNFPA Reproductive Health Kit for Emergency Situations contains several sub-kits for specific program activities:

Block 1

Six kits, for use at the community and primary health care level:
10,000 population for three months

Subkit 0: Training and Administration

Subkit 1: Condoms (Part A: Male Condoms, Part B: Female Condoms)

Subkit 2: Clean delivery (Part A: Mother’s Kit, Part B: Attendant’s Kit)

Subkit 3: Rape Treatment

Subkit 4: Oral and Injectable Contraceptives

Subkit 5: STI Treatment

 

Block 2

Five kits use at health centre or referral level:
30,000 population for three months

Subkit 6: Clinical Delivery Assistance

Subkit 7: Intra-Uterine Device

Subkit 8: Management of the Complications of Abortion

Subkit 9: Vaginal Examination and Suture of Cervical and Vaginal Tears

Subkit 10: Vacuum Extraction Delivery Assistance

 

Block 3

For use at the referral level:
150,000 population for three months

Subkit 11: A – Referral-Level Surgical (reusable equipment)
Subkit 11: B – Referral-Level Surgical (consumable items and drugs)

Subkit 12: Blood Transfusion Equipment and Supplies
