| This
emergency contraception distance learning module was principally
developed by Connie Lee, an independent consultant to the Women's
Commission for Refugee Women and Children. Sandra Krause, Julia
Matthews, Diana Quick and Sarah Chynoweth of the Women's Commission
for Refugee Women and Children provided project and editorial
oversight. The module is based primarily on Pathfinder International's
"Module 5: Emergency Contraceptive Pills" in Comprehensive
Reproductive Health and Family Planning Training Curriculum,
and the World Health Organization's Emergency Contraception:
A guide for service delivery, but has been adapted for
conflict-affected settings. We would like to thank Doris Bartel
of CARE, Susan Purdin of Columbia University, Rachel Jones and
Mary Otieno, both formerly of the International Rescue Committee,
Meriwether Beatty of JSI Research and Training Institute, Samantha
Guy of Marie Stopes International and Wilma Doedens of the United
Nations Population Fund for their editing assistance. We also
would like to express our appreciation for the many humanitarian
workers who field-tested the document and provided insightful
comments to improve the module and make it as user-friendly
as possible. |
